LeJeune to Continue Leading Acadia St. Landry Hospital Following Unanimous Contract Renewal

At the June 26, 2025 Board of Commissioners meeting, the Acadia St. Landry Hospital Board voted unanimously to renew the contract of Chief Executive Officer Michael J. LeJeune for an additional three years. The renewal comes as LeJeune’s initial three-year term nears completion on July 25, 2025.

LeJeune, who assumed leadership of the organization in 2022, has spearheaded a sweeping revitalization of the hospital. He has guided the organization through a period of strategic growth, operational improvements, and continued dedication to rural healthcare excellence. Under his leadership, Acadia St. Landry Hospital has expanded services, strengthened community partnerships, and focused on long-term sustainability in a challenging healthcare environment.

“Michael has proven to be a bold and steady hand during a pivotal time in our hospital’s history,” said ASLH Board Commissioner Rachel Broussard. “We’re proud to continue our partnership and build upon the progress made under his leadership.”

During his tenure, LeJeune led a strategic turnaround effort focused on rebuilding and revitalizing care in the region. This included recruiting medical staff and reintroducing much-needed physician services to the community. He also oversaw the expansion of outpatient offerings and launched initiatives centered on local health needs. Together, these efforts have led to better patient outcomes, greater community involvement, and improved financial stability for the hospital.

LeJeune expressed gratitude for the Board’s support and emphasized his ongoing commitment to the hospital’s mission. “It’s an honor to continue serving Acadia St. Landry Hospital and the communities we support,” said LeJeune. “I look forward to building on the momentum we’ve created and to working with our dedicated team to provide high-quality, compassionate care for years to come. We are working on several major projects and hope to share more details in the near future.”

The renewed contract will extend LeJeune’s leadership through July 2028
