Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy helps people from all walks of life engage in healthy practices, adopt healthy behaviors, and participate in the things they want and need to do in everyday life despite illness, injury, or disability.

Our occupational therapy department addresses a wide range of injuries and disabilities including trauma, pain, fractures, crush, nerve, tendon injuries, muscle tears, carpal tunnel, sensory impairments, dislocations, tendonitis, arthritis, and stroke. Occupational Therapy can help maximize post-surgical outcomes.

With 25 plus years of geriatric and pediatric experience, Jerry Pasol, the occupational therapist on staff at Acadia St. Landry Hospital, will provide each client with a comprehensive assessment and work with them to develop a customized treatment program to maximize functional skills and meet goals set by the client.

Physical Therapy

Our professional physical therapists diagnose and treat individuals of all ages who are experiencing pain, or have difficulty with movement or performing functional daily activities. Whether the individual’s problem is a result of injury or disease, the goal of physical therapy is to return the
patient to maximum function. With an individual assessment and therapy plan, our staff uses a variety of treatment techniques to help each patient reach their goal.

With more than 22 years of experience our Physical Therapist, Jeff Menard, will customize a therapy program for each individual.  Jeff also holds certifications in lymphedema management and wound care certification.

Speech Therapy

The speech therapy department at ASLH offers both inpatient and outpatient services to the local community.  The office provides training in articulation, language/cognition, stuttering voice, and training for safe swallowing and oral intake to children and adults at the hospital . With a prescription from the physician, patients can be evaluated and a plan of care can be developed for improved communication and swallowing skills.

Respiratory Therapy

There is no need to drive far for your Respiratory Therapy testing. Our Respiratory Department here at Acadia-St. Landry Hospital provides a friendly and comfortable environment for both outpatient and inpatient services.  We perform testing such as EKG’s, Arterial Blood Gases, Lung Spirometers, and Holter Monitors, as well as nebulizer and oxygen therapy.  So, stay local and support your community hospital!
