Michael J. LeJeune MBA, BSN-RN

Chief Executive Officer

Michael J. LeJeune is a seasoned healthcare executive with more than two decades of experience spanning emergency medicine, nursing leadership, hospice care, and rural hospital administration. As Chief Executive Officer of Acadia St. Landry Hospital, he leads the strategic, operational, and financial direction of the 25-bed critical access hospital, with a strong focus on expanding access to quality healthcare in underserved rural communities. Under his leadership, the organization has achieved meaningful progress in patient care, physician recruitment, operational performance, and long-term financial sustainability.

LeJeune began his healthcare career as a paramedic with Acadian Ambulance before earning his nursing degree and serving as an emergency room nurse at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. He later advanced into leadership roles in occupational medicine and hospice care, including serving as Chief Operating Officer and Interim Chief Executive Officer of Hospice of Acadiana. During this time, he earned his Master of Business Administration and transitioned into executive healthcare leadership.

A native of Roberts Cove, Louisiana, LeJeune earned degrees from LSU Eunice, South Louisiana Community College, and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where he completed both his Bachelor of Science in Nursing and MBA.

Recognized for his leadership and community impact, LeJeune was named Acadia Parish Business Person of the Year in 2024 and Best Healthcare Administrator in 2019. He remains actively involved in numerous civic and professional organizations, including the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Passionate about the future of rural healthcare, he continues to champion innovation, strategic growth, and sustainable care models that strengthen healthcare access across the region.

Jacob M. Clement, M.D.

Chief of Staff

Dr. Jacob M. Clement is a Louisiana native dedicated to providing compassionate, comprehensive care for patients of all ages, with a special focus on family and geriatric medicine. As a board-certified physician in both Family Medicine and Geriatric Medicine, Dr. Clement is passionate about helping individuals and families achieve better health through preventative care, chronic disease management, and personalized treatment plans.

Dr. Clement earned his Doctor of Medicine from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport in 2020. He completed both his Family Medicine Residency and Geriatric Medicine Fellowship at LSU Health Sciences Center in Lafayette, where he developed advanced expertise in caring for older adults and patients with complex medical needs.

Committed to improving healthcare access and quality throughout Louisiana communities, Dr. Clement strives to build lasting relationships with his patients while delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care. His clinical interests include preventative medicine, senior health, chronic disease management, and promoting healthy aging.

Dr. Clement also holds certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).

Garrett Higginbotham, RN

Director of Nursing

Garrett Higginbotham, RN, currently serves as the Director of Nursing at Acadia St. Landry Hospital, where he is committed to advancing quality patient care and strengthening healthcare delivery in a rural community setting. With more than 11 years of nursing experience, including 4 years in leadership and management roles, Garrett has developed extensive clinical expertise with a specialization in emergency department nursing.

Garrett earned both his Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and Associate Degree in Nursing (RN-ADN) through South Louisiana Community College and is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at McNeese State University. He plans to further his education by obtaining a Master of Business Administration (MBA) to continue expanding his leadership and healthcare management knowledge.

Throughout his career, Garrett has been recognized for his dedication to patient care, teamwork, and professional excellence, including receiving a Clinical Excellence Award. He is an active member of both the American Nurses Association and the Louisiana State Nurses Association and proudly serves as a board member for the Acadia Parish Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development.

Passionate about improving healthcare access and outcomes in underserved communities, Garrett strongly advocates for compassionate, patient-centered care in rural healthcare environments. His leadership philosophy emphasizes communication, collaboration, and team development while maintaining high standards of clinical excellence.

Melanie Roge

Director of Outpatient Services and Growth

Melanie Roge serves as Director of Outpatient Services and Growth for Acadia St. Landry Hospital, where she oversees outpatient clinic operations and leads growth initiatives across the hospital system. Her work bridges operations, strategy, service line development, community outreach, and public engagement with a focus on expanding access to care and strengthening the future of rural healthcare.

In this role, Roge works closely with hospital leadership, providers, clinic teams, and community partners to support the development and growth of programs and services that meet the needs of Church Point and the surrounding region. Her areas of focus include provider practice growth, specialty service development, employer-based wellness efforts, community health initiatives, and continued improvement of outpatient clinic operations.


With experience in healthcare strategy, marketing, business development, outpatient operations, and community relations, Roge brings a practical, mission-driven approach to healthcare leadership. Her work reflects the belief that rural hospitals are not only places of care, but essential community anchors that support the health, stability, and future of the people they serve.


A graduate of Leadership EXCEL Class of 2025, Roge remains involved in regional leadership and community development efforts, including her role leading the Healthy Acadia Alliance, a coalition focused on improving health outcomes across Acadia Parish. She is passionate about advancing sustainable rural healthcare, improving access to local services, and helping Acadia St. Landry Hospital continue its mission of providing Small Town, Big Care.

Ginger Mouton, RHIA, CHC

Compliance and Privacy Officer

Ginger Mouton (née Courvelle) is an accomplished healthcare leader with more than 15 years of experience across behavioral health, hospital, and critical access hospital settings. A native of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana and resident of Cankton, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Informatics and Information Management from Louisiana Tech University. Ginger is a Registered Health Information Administrator and is Certified in Healthcare Compliance. She is an active member with the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA).

Throughout her career, Ginger has developed extensive expertise in leadership, Health Information Management, HIPAA and privacy compliance, medical staff credentialing, performance improvement, risk management, environment of care, patient safety, contracting, regulatory compliance, ethics, and accreditation and licensing survey readiness. Her broad operational and compliance experience has positioned her as a trusted leader committed to advancing quality, integrity, and organizational excellence in healthcare.

In her current focus on compliance initiatives for Acadia St. Landry Hospital, Ginger is dedicated to strengthening regulatory compliance, promoting ethical practices, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. She aspires to make a lasting positive impact through collaborative leadership and a steadfast commitment to exceptional healthcare operations and patient care.

Dawn W. Woods

Director of Human Resources

Dawn W. Woods serves as the Director of Human Resources at Acadia St. Landry Hospital, bringing nearly two decades of experience in a variety of human resources roles. With a strong foundation in payroll and employee relations, she is recognized for her commitment to supporting both organizational success and employee development. Dawn’s professional approach is grounded in the belief that people are the heart of every workplace, often saying, “I love to be a resource to the humans.”

 

Originally from New Orleans, Dawn has called Lafayette home since 2004. She earned three Certificates of Technical Studies from Louisiana Technical College in Accounting Technology, Medical Office Assistant, and Office Systems Technology. She also holds an Associate Degree in Business Administration from South Louisiana Community College. Continuing her dedication to professional growth, Dawn is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Management with a concentration in Human Resources at University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

 

Dawn is an active member of Society for Human Resource Management at the university, local Acadiana, and national levels, and is also a member of The National Society of Leadership and Success. Throughout her career, she has remained passionate about helping employees navigate the workplace, fostering positive organizational culture, and serving as a trusted resource for leadership and staff alike.

Tiffany D. Young

Financial Controller

Tiffany and her family reside in the rural community just outside of Church Point.  Being a resilient breast cancer survivor, Tiffany knew that her heart was in the healthcare setting.  Tiffany previously worked at Acadia St. Landry Hospital for seven and a half years.  She left for a short time and returned to Acadia St. Landry Hospital, where she calls “home”. 

 

Tiffany holds a degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Accounting from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.  She has had the privilege of working in both public and private accounting, allowing her to develop a comprehensive understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities that different organizations face.  Throughout her career, she has used her expertise in various areas, including tax preparation, auditing, and financial reporting.  She also served on the Advisory Counsil and Finance Committee at Our Mother of Peace Elementary in Church Point for three years. 

 

With over 20 years of dedicated experience in the accounting field, Tiffany has developed a deep understanding of financial principles.  Her journey began with a passion for numbers and a desire to help organizations streamline their financial processes.  She prides herself on her ability to analyze financial data and generate insights that drive informed decision-making.  Her approach is not only about ensuring compliance with regulations but also about helping Acadia St. Landry Hospital achieve their financial goals.

 

As she looks to the future, she is excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.  Tiffany is eager to continue expanding her knowledge and skills while helping Acadia St. Landry Hospital navigate the complexities of accounting and finance. 

Barrett Broussard, CDM, CFPP

Director of Nutritional Services

Barrett Broussard is a highly experienced food and nutrition professional with more than 31 years of expertise in culinary services, healthcare nutrition, and food safety. As Director of Nutritional Services at Acadia St. Landry Hospital, he leads the hospital’s nutritional services department with a hands-on approach focused on patient well-being, safety, and quality care. Working closely with the hospital’s leadership team, Barrett plays an integral role in promoting a safe environment, responsible financial stewardship, and nutritious meal services that support the healing process for patients and staff alike.

A native of Lafayette, Louisiana, Barrett developed his passion for cooking and serving others at an early age. Inspired by a family legacy of talented cooks and meaningful experiences visiting nursing homes with his grandfather, he pursued a career rooted in hospitality and compassionate care. He began his culinary journey at Alcide’s Restaurant in Broussard, Louisiana, where he advanced from steward to executive chef. He later expanded his expertise through leadership and training roles with Hub City Diner and Copeland’s of New Orleans before transitioning into healthcare nutrition services at The Rehabilitation Hospital of Acadiana in Youngsville, Louisiana.

Throughout his distinguished career, Barrett has served in hospitals, long-term care facilities, and assisted living communities across Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi. He earned his Certified Dietary Manager and Certified Food Protection Professional (CDM, CFPP) credentials through the University of Florida and is recognized by the Louisiana Department of Health as a certified ServSafe instructor and proctor.

Barrett currently serves as State President of the Louisiana Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals and remains actively involved in advancing the profession at both the state and national levels. In 2018, he received the Diamond Award in recognition of his dedicated volunteer service supporting homeless veterans through the Louisiana VA Stand Down program. He has also earned numerous honors from the National ANFP for excellence in membership, communication, government affairs, and more than 25 years of professional service.

In addition to his leadership responsibilities, Barrett serves on the Item Writers Committee for the National ANFP Certifying Board, helping develop and review examination content for future Certified Dietary Manager candidates. He is currently pursuing additional certification through the National Environmental Health Association as a Certified Professional in Food Safety (CP-FS), further strengthening food safety standards and operational excellence within the hospital environment.
